Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. The book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the book, and found the place where it was written,
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to heal the broken hearted,
to proclaim release to the captives,
recovering of sight to the blind,
to deliver those who are crushed,
and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Does Jesus still heal today?

JESUS is a name with a meaning - that God is our Saviour through Him. He saves not only from death, but also from fear, sickness, bondage, torment...
CHRIST is also more than a surname or even a swearword! It means the Messiah or the Anointed One - the person sent to show people what God is really like, and ultimately to pay the price for those things that separate us from God - some call this sin - to give us hope for not only the next life in Heaven, but for our earthly life too.
