True Story No.1, by Belma Vardy
(an extract from Catch the Fire by Guy Chevreau, 1994)

As I lay on the floor at the Toronto Airport church, I felt a beautiful presence come all over me.....I felt my physical body unable to get up, and as I 'rested', I had what I best describe as an 'out of body' experience.

I saw myself walking in lush green pasture, hand in hand with Jesus. We came to a river, and He told me that this was the "River of Life" which flowed from the throne of God (as described in Revelation Chapter 22 at the end of the Bible). As we walked further into the river, I noticed the water flowing through my leg, not around it. As we continued to walk, I felt a refreshing feeling flow through my body from my toes up to my head.

After three hours resting on the floor, I struggled up and had to be driven home. That night I was woken up at 2 a.m. I was immediately wide awake, and heard a voice say, "Look at your leg!" [For six years I had had a growth on my leg, which had started out as a rash, but by March 1994, it covered an area of about 4 x 2 inches; the skin was raised and extremely irritating, itchy and painful. I had been to the doctor many times with it, and had been told it was a skin condition which I would have for life, and there was nothing they could do for me.]

When I woke up, I knew immediately to look at my leg where they growth was. It was TOTALLY GONE! I gasped and started touching the spot, and it felt so smooth, like new skin. I thought I was dreaming, and found it hard to digest - that God would love me so much as to heal me!

I have received healing from Arthritis in my
Hands and Feet!

I couldn't drive the car without pain in my hands and feet,
because of arthritic pain. During prayer at the Catch the Fire conference in Toronto,
I felt heat in my hands very intensely,
and the pain left.
It doesn't hurt to write anymore!

True Story No.3, by Bob Brasset, Extreme Healing, Canada

In 1996, Peter deJong, a successful businessman and a well known youth evangelist was seriously impaired in a car accident. The injuries were so severe from whiplash, soft tissue injury and neurological damage that the doctors gave him a permanent lifetime invalid status and pension. He was for years in constant pain, unable to work or lift objects. He couldn't remember many of his friends or where he lived or even what day of the week it was. His business went down and down, hovering on bankruptcy, even though others were attempting to manage it for him.
Then he heard that Bob Brasset, a personal friend and healing evangelist from Canada would be coming to Holland. His friends urged him to go to the healing meetings. He replied, "I'm too sick to go but if you prepare a bed for me in the balcony of the auditorium then perhaps I could go for a brief time. Then he had another idea. "I'll invite Bob to my home for a cup of tea." He did so and as they sat drinking tea the power of God came in the room and completely healed him.
The next day Peter was able to drive Bob to Belgium, a journey that took about five hours. That same night, as he joined Bob as a member of Bob's healing team, Peter began healing people. He hasn't stopped since. His business thrived and greatly prospered. Today, Peter ministers all over the world with a miracle anointing similar and equally as effective as that of his friend Bob Brasset.


Are you wondering if Jesus can release you from mental torment? Here is one more true story:

Bhakti (from Assam, India) worshipped Kali, a Hindu goddess with bloodthirsty demands for sacrifices. But Bhakti's faithful sacrifices did nothing to protect her from Kali's wrath; instead, they left her vulnerable to evil spirits. Bhakti became violently ill after sacrificing at Kali's temple. She deteriorated rapidly, and the illness attacked her mental functions. She frightened her family with maniacal laughing and singing. They were certain that Kali had taken possession of Bhakti.
Her family turned to Hindu priests and even a mental hospital for help. They spent all their money on treatments, plunging them into poverty – but Bhakti got worse rather than better.
Gospel for Asia missionary M.P. heard about Bhakti's condition, and offered to pray for her. Her desperate family told M. that if the Christian God would heal Bhakti, they would all become believers in Jesus Christ. M. spent a week fasting (going without food) and praying for Bhakti, and she was completely healed! The joy that came to her family was enormous. Bhakti and her husband both kept their vow that if Jesus was able to set her free where doctors and gurus had failed, they would gladly serve Him for the rest of their lives.
As Paul, one of the earliest Christian teachers, wrote to his pupil Timothy, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind”


True Story No.5 - Are Heaven and Hell Real?

 "I entered this opening to find myself inside a long narrow passageway or tunnel - at the far end of the tunnel I could see the source of the light - it was so radiant that it looked to be the centre of the universe. As I continued to look towards this light it seemed to draw me towards it at an incredible speed - I wasn't walking but was being translated along this tunnel towards the source of this light. I watched as a wave of light broke off the source and moved up the tunnel towards me - as it passed through me I could feel a wave of warmth and comfort flood my soul … it was incredible. This light wasn't just physical, but was giving off a living emotion … Halfway down another wave of light - this time it gave off pure peace - followed by another wave - of pure joy. Coming out of the end of this tunnel I found myself standing in the presence of awesome light and power - it seemed as though even the constellations in the universe must find their energy source from this focal point. As I stood there I wondered to myself if this was just an energy source in the universe or if perhaps there could be someone standing in the midst of this light!!!!! A voice immediately responded to my thought and asked me "Ian, do you wish to return?" Return, I thought!!! Where am I??? As I looked over my shoulder I could see the tunne1 going back into darkness."

This is part of the story of New Zealander Ian McCormack, a young man who was out to explore the world, enjoy life and not give any thought to God or eternity...however, his mother never failed to pray for him every day. Everything changed for Ian when one night he was diving off the coast of Mauritius with his friends, fishing for lobster, when suddenly he was stung five times on his bare arm by the world's second deadliest animal, the box jellyfish. As the poison worked its way up his arm and into his nervous system and vital organs, he felt his body losing strength and death coming ever closer...however, nobody wanted to help him until it was almost too late! When the ambulance finally arrived to take him to hospital, he found scenes from his entire life flashing before his eyes, and some words from a prayer his mother taught him coming into his mind:

"Forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us
Thy will be done"

Once he arrived in hospital, there was a struggle to save his life, which failed because by that time all his veins had collapsed and he could feel icy death creeping through all his bones, until his spirit left his body and went on the journey described above.
